COMIC CREATOR

With the Comic Creator students can  create their own comic strips for a variety of contexts (prewriting, pre- and postreading activities, response to literature, and so on).
The organizers focus on the key elements of comic strips by allowing students to choose backgrounds, characters, and props, as well as to compose related dialogue (shown at left). This versatile tool can be used by students from kindergarten through high school, for purposes ranging from learning to write dialogue to an in-depth study of a formerly neglected genre. The tool is easy to use, made even easier with the Comic Strip Planning Sheet, a printable PDF that comic creators can use to draft and revise their work before creating and printing their final comics. After completing their comic, students have the ability to print out and illustrate their final versions for feedback and assessment.

Disney Carnival

Next Friday 4th March we're going to celebrate at school Carnival. This year Tuineje's theme is Disney. Have you chosen your character? Here you've got some ideas for your costume.

There are lots of characters: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Disney Fairies, Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, Wall-e, Mulan, Aladdin, Buzz...

Disney's characters' link may be useful to take a decision.

Valentine's Day Activities

To celebrate St.Valentine's Day 2011, we've done the following activities at school:

  • Valentine's post box. The children and teachers wrote Valentine's cards to their mates, classmates or friends at school with nice friendship or love messages and put them in a post box. Some messengers delivered the messages.
  • In  6th courses we learnt different poems.  The children chose their favourite one and wrote them on a bookmark I gave them to decorate and use for their English books.
  • We also did a listening activity, with a Romantic song by Nick Jonas titled "Who I am".
I'm going to leave you with the video with the lyrics of the song. Enjoy practicing your pronunciation.
